How to recharge your Air Conditioning System - Honda Civic Type R
I bought a DIY AC recharge kit as the AC system in the Ep3 was not kicking in and just blowing warm air out of the vents. After using this I now have freezing cold air and the AC compressor is kicking in nicely. Give this a test drive if your facing the same challenges as it’s easy to use, even I managed it, you can also use it multiple time rather than fork out more
Money for a recharge every time. All the instructions are on the can and the trigger.
Other brands are available however I chose STP. Details below:

I’m still a beginner making UA-cam videos (you gotta start some where right?) it would be great if you could click the “like” and “subscribe” buttons so I can make further content with your support.
Any comments welcome, keep it clean guys 🤣
Thanks for watching 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

You have to let it run until the pressure is equal between the high and low side just let it run

  • @sneakybadger

For those wondering, at around 4:20 he charges the system enough to switch on, The high pressure side has as pressure sensor that needs to see 196 kPa, 28Psi or above to switch on the AC clutch. The Compressor clicks on and draws in low pressure refrigerant hence the gauge going close to 0. At that point you have no way to see how charged the system is, as most of the refrigerant is on the high pressure side. When I charged my FN2 i'd put in enough to get high pressure to about 250kPa, Using an OBD scanner i was able to get it to a more respectable 600kPa. I struggled to find a target figure for what the high pressure side should be at.

Thanks for the video. Going on a long holiday and seen plenty of good reviews and the odd naff one. Seeing your comments that it's still going after plenty of travel gives me some confidence getting one myself. Cheers

Hi, I have a different car but the same issue. When car is running the gauge shows low. When I switch engine off it’s in the yellow? Any ideas mate? Thank you

Should only ever be concerned with pressure when the motor is running, not when it's off.

Hello, I hope you are fine. Just need to know when air conditioning working the pressure suppose to be low and when ac clutch stop it go to green pressure area. Because when my AC clutch spin pulley pressure goes low. When my AC clutch pulley disconnected then it goes back to green pressure atea

Can't believe how clean your engine bay is! Same question as above, did it last ?

Sorry Roger notifications were switched off so missed your message, I’ve responded to Rootsman’s questions and thanks I try to keep the engine bay clean if I can although I’ve made some changes to the engine now so the rocker cover if a bit flaky…probably need to strip the paint at some point on it and reapply. In relation to the ac yes it has lasted, I’ve topped it again a bit last month it’s freezing cold now although we’re into autumn now so I’m not likely to need it very much…

@@singhstyla Hi Ravi, thanks for reply. Did our 08 Skoda Fabia with it in July . Got some advice from Skoda forum and it works ! Car is really cold now. I kept the can in a bucket of hot water while charging, apparently this helps get more gas from the can.

i have the same problem with my a/c not working - can i just ask, you did this a while ago now did it all work out ok? did it hold the charge or did you find other issues? i've been putting it off for so long but i really just need to get out there and get it sorted. cheers.

Apologies about the late reply Rootsman. I had notifications switched off. Doh! I put it off for ages too but thought it was baking in the car just get on with it, so I did. The first time you do this it’s a bit daunting as you don’t want to spoil anything particularly on an old car, your stuck with the problem. I originally off camera didn’t have much luck so popped over to Halfords and got a free AC health check. After establishing there was no leaks they showed the correct way of filling it which is what you could see in the video. Just tilting it 90 degrees etc but keep the trigger pressed. Don’t overfill and eventually you will see that the cabin gets cold. I mean really cold. Glad I got this as it’s saved me quite a bit and the bottle is still going. I’ve used it again since this video and worked perfectly. Any other questions let me know. If you’ve topped up already, how did you get on?

I just had my wavebreaker, which is pretty much the same like sound box and I think the extendable handle is very fragile and not trusty at all. I really don't know if I should return it or if this is a common feature in american tourister.

nirennna metriani hello! I’ve done about 10 short trips using this case, and it has been a good experience so far. This is a hard plastic case but has a little flex in it so it doesn’t break easily and the handle is metal with a plastic top. What is the warranty period on your case?

    • @nirenametriani6632
      @nirenametriani6632 5 років тому

@@singhstyla, 3 years warranty actually. The handle is the same as in sound-box or bon-air and it is not as steady as I should expect. I decided it to keep it anyway and give it a try.

Graeme Brown This is spot on, I travel on business a fair bit so a lot of short trips. It’s been in cargo so far and lived to tell the tail however you know what the handlers are like. I’d like to say it’s pretty durable, it’s new so too early to say unfortunately. It has a warranty for 3yrs which is good 👍🏼

Samuel Crawford hey, sure is.... obviously not doing as much travel due to COVID-19 but still it’s a solid piece of kit, it’s had a number of trips in and around Europe and still sitting pretty. If you’re going to get one it’s got to be the brightest one they sell. The bright yellow! 🤘🏼
